Bump and Blades - JamGame
December 2024 libGDX 7 Day Game Jam Entry
Theme: Rougelike
Dev Notes:
*Small Update, Added in the Scoreboard Above (Scores earned on Easy Mode Cannot be submitted).
Having never used box2D in a jam game before. I attempted a simple pinball game. I was hoping to add some actual rougelike elements to it but sadly. Most of it was scrapped for time. As it is now. I guess, Um, if you die... you lose and have to start all over again. That's rougelike enough right? Right!?
Maybe I'll spice it up a bit before the jam stream.
Gameplay:
So it's basic pinball setup with some rules you can discover as you play.
There will also be enemies spawning along the top, defeating them gives points.
Hitting the Bumper barrels scores you 10 points each.
There is a Skeleton Guarding a cave off to the side. (Originally this was supposed to be a separate dungeon room, but yea. Didn't happen). Killing the skeleton and getting into the cave will award some points as well as increase the damage your ball deals to enemies. +1 at a time. After a few seconds the ball will spawn back at camp. To launch again.
Lighting up 3 torches will spark a summoning fire around the center. Light all 6 summoning fires to... find out!
Every 1000 pts gets you an extra ball.
Also added an Easy Mode selector which puts bumpers on the drains but Scores can not be submitted when playing on easy mode.
Right now you get 3 balls and that's it.
I had plans for multi-ball, chest drops. Etc.. But I ran out of time.
