September 2025 libGDX 7 Day Game Jam Entry

Theme: Dungeons

*After a lackluster submission, i cheated and managed to update my game to a more playable state this week, with an actual endgame and gameplay.

My original goal was to try and expand on my Typing  jam game  from a few years ago. But the lack of time led to a pretty undercooked experience. No scoring, no map, nothing.

This is a very simple dungeon crawler.
Explore the dungeon and collect the 3 magic orbs. Once all 3 orbs are found, you win!

Monsters will appear and you must use your typing skills to show them who's boss.

The game's difficulty will increase slightly every time an orb is collected.

That's pretty much all there is.

The default movement is setup in WASD + QE controls.

W- Forward

S- Backward

A- Strafe Left

D- Strafe Right

Q- Turn Left

E- Turn right

And the typing portion should be self explanatory.

Monsters come towards you and you have a certain amount of time to type out your word to push attack and push them back. Or else you take damage.

For extra help navigating, you can see a map of the Dungeon Layout in the screenshot to the right.

As usual a great game prototype from BobIsHere :) A side note, "Quit Game" option should be hidden in WebGL. A fun typing game. Is this using 3D?

Haha, yea. I've been using the same menu template for all my jam games for like... 5 years now. I originally the left the Quit Game button in there from when i used to do desktop builds. I've just been too lazy remove it. :-D

And yes, this is 100% 3D. Using libGDX's basic 3d api. The only things that are not 3D are the text boxes that pop up, the hearts and the Knight sprite. Those are in a separate scene2D stage and viewport.

Lazy is good :) Thanks for the info.

Moody. Love the discrete movement dynamic. The bat battle was fun.
As a prototype this absolutely proves such a game would be fun and engaging to play. Well done : )

I like the idea. Reminds me a bit of Cryptmaster
